Stamford Police Conduct DUI Checkpoint STAMFORD, Conn. – The Stamford Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday on Bedford Street at Chester Street. Representatives of MADD CT (Mother Against Drunk Driving) will partner with Stamford police to participate in the checkpoint. They will be handing out safety tips for the holidays as well as Uber coupons to promote safe driving during the holiday season. The Stamford Police Department supports MADD in its mission. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas At Fairfield Museum FAIRFIELD, Conn. – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Fairfield Museum and History Center with the Holiday Express Train Show, and this year’s display features something new: a meticulously decorated dollhouse. Two area residents, the late Evelyn and Frank Gerratana, created the Victorian dollhouse in 1979 and designed it to resemble a doctor’s house in honor of their son, who was in medical school at the time. Poughkeepsie School District Files Lawsuit To Receive Financial Aid POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Attorneys for the Poughkeepsie school district and other districts lacking financing have filed a lawsuit asking the state to restore aid by the 2019-20 school year, reports the Poughkeepsie Journal. The lawsuit was filed recently, almost one month after New York state agreed there was a $1.1 billion difference in the funding the eight districts should have received under the 2007 Foundation Aid Formula and the amount the school districts actually received since the aid was frozen in 2010, according to the report.
