Child Care Council Invites Community To Free Celebration In White Plains SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Child Care Council of Westchester will hold a casual celebration hosted by its #GivingTuesday sponsor, TD Bank, to celebrate the community’s generosity Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at the TD Bank White Plains Branch. Person-To-Person Dishes Up Thanksgiving Turkeys In Norwalk NORWALK, Conn. -- Volunteers from Norwalk-based FactSet helped pack bags and distribute turkeys Monday in Norwalk as part of the work of Darien nonprofit Person-To-Person. Norwalk Mayor Rilling joined state Sen. Bob Duff (D-25th District) and state Rep. Fred Wilms (D-142) to pack bags and distribute turkeys. More than 220 turkeys were handed out on Monday, and 340 more on Tuesday. Turkeys and fixings were obtained from Connecticut Food Bank and Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. Donations were also received from various grocery stores, businesses, schools and organizations in the area. …

Man Charged For Falsely Reporting Attack At Southeast Group Home SOUTHEAST, N.Y. -- The man who falsely reported a violent attack at a group home in Southeast nearly a week ago has been arrested, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department announced late Wednesday afternoon. Christopher Lopez, 30, of John Simpson Road in Southeast, is charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree.  Sheriff’s investigators allege that Lopez placed an anonymous call at around 3 p.m. that a group home on John Simpson Road was violently attacked by an armed assailant.
