Residents may come to the lobby of police headquarters located at 198 N. Washington Ave. from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday to meet the buyer or seller if they are making transactions via Craigslist or any other classified advertisements website. The safe exchange zone is a policing tool to help protect residents from becoming victims of scams, frauds or thefts. FBI Alerts Local Police Of Possible 'Copycat' Paris Terror Attacks The FBI has warned 18,000 local law enforcement agencies to be aware of possible copycat terror plots inspired by the Paris attacks. Agencies were warned to look out for people conducting surveillance on “soft targets,” or undefended non-military targets, in the U.S., according to the New York Post. The State Department issued an alert for American citizens just days before Thanksgiving regarding the possible risks of travel due to the increase in recent threats from Middle Eastern terrorist units. Libous Sentenced For Lying To FBI In Case Involving Westchester Law Firm WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Former New York State Sen, Thomas W. Libous was sentenced in White Plains Tuesday to six months of house arrest for making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation during an interview in 2010 regarding his son’s hiring at a Westchester law firm, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. In addition to the sentence of home arrest, Libous, 62, of Binghamton, was also sentenced to two years of supervised release and ordered to pay a fine of $50,000.
