College Professor May Lose Job Over Sandy Hook 'Truther' Website
NEWTOWN, Conn. – A Florida Atlantic University professor who launched a blog three years ago stating the Sandy Hook tragedy was a hoax may lose his job because of the website, reports NBC Connecticut. James Tracy, who is an associate professor in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies, was served a notice of his proposed termination by the vice provost for academic affairs on Wednesday, according to the report. SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Yoga Tots will be held at the Scarsdale Public Library on Monday at 10:30 a.m., starting a holiday-shortened week at the library. Toddlers ages 3-5 will have fun "playing yoga." EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Eastchester High School students are performing a holiday concert Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the lobby of the MetLife building in New York City. UConn Tuition Increasing 31 Percent During Next Four Years
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Tuition at the University of Connecticut will increase by 31 percent during the next four years, starting next fall, reports the Hartford Courant. The tuition increase schedule: Fall of 2016: In-state students will pay $700 more, a 6.7 percent jump. By Fall of 2019: Tuition will reach $13,700, compared with the 2015 price of $10,524. CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. – Registration is now open for Clarkstown Parks and Recreation Commission’s bowling program, which runs for 12 weeks starting Wednesdays, Jan. 6 through April 6, from 4-5:30 p.m., or Fridays, Jan. 8 through April 15, from 3:45-5:15 p.m. at New City Bowl, 90 Main St., New City.
