YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Yorktown High School students had plenty of holiday spirit and shared it with those at the Field Home, a health care and community services facility on the border of Cortlandt Manor and Yorktown. Bronx River Parkway Closing For Crane Road Bridge Work
SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The final Bronx River Parkway weekend closure for bridge joint drainage enhancements on the Crane Road Bridge will start Friday at 10 p.m. and end on Sunday at 8 p.m. Starting on Friday, the southbound Bronx River Parkway will be closed between Exit 21 in White Plains and the Ardsley Road exit. Man Charged In Murder-For-Hire Scheme Against NY Restaurant Manager
A Stamford, Conn., man was indicted Thursday on federal charges of arranging an elaborate murder-for-hire scheme against a New York restaurant manager to whom he owed $150,000, according to Deirdre Daly, U.S. attorney for Connecticut. Larry Talledo-Torrejon, 29, a citizen of Peru who resided in Stamford, was planning to purchase a restaurant for $300,000 and provided the manager with $150,000 in checks without sufficient money to cover them and $150,000 in casher's checks, Daly said. TIVOLI, N.Y. – The historic Clermont house and grounds will be free during an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. VALHALLA, N.Y. – Students at Kensico School in the Valhalla Union Free School District collected toys throughout December to donate to the Toys for Tots Foundation. The program, run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, distributes toys to children in need during the Christmas season.
