Dumpster Fire Blocks Traffic in Stafford County Traffic in Fairfax County this week was an absolute dumpster fire. No really, a pile of trash caught fire and blocked traffic for an hour on Thursday, June 16, police said.  Trash in a garbage truck caught fire along Simpson Road Thursday morning in Fredericksburg, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Fire crews put out the trash fire, but it took an hour to clean the charred garbage, meaning the road was closed near Warrenton Road for an hour, deputies said.  It's unclear what caused the fire. No one was injured — just inconvenienced.

Norman had parked along Emancipation Highway across the street from Stratford Square Apartment Complex to complete some paperwork around 2 a.m., Fredericksburg police said. McLean Man Sentenced To 3 Years In $1.6M In Fraud Scheme: Feds A 33-year-old McLean man was sentenced to three years in prison earlier this month for his role in a five-year scam that bilked more than 1,300 people — mostly elderly — out of $1.6 million, the Department of Justice said.  A court ruled that Bruhaspaty Prasad, 33, worked with scam artists based at a call center in India to steal money from unsuspecting victims, a U.S. Attorney said in a news release.  Their alleged grift is one that anyone online has likely come across in recent years.  In the scam, victims would get an unsolicited phone call or a pop-up window on a website…

Police ID 19-Year-Old Man Shot At Woodbridge Shopping Center A man shot multiple times at a Prince William County shopping center on Tuesday, June 14, has died, police said on Thursday.  David Madison Fowler III, of Woodbridge, and a friend were supposed to meet three men at Cheshire Station Plaza around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Prince William County police. During that meeting, one of those men opened fire and shot Fowler several times in the chest. They then sped away in a light-colored vehicle.
