Hackensack Riverkeeper Thanks Volunteers With Appreciation Dinner HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Hackensack Riverkeeper will host a Jimmy Buffett-themed appreciation dinner for volunteers at the Bergenfield Elks Lodge on Friday, Feb. 19. Guests are invited to wear a Hawaiian shirt or any other Buffett-inspired outfit. Festivities will include games, prizes, tricky tray and raffles. West Milford Students Win Art Awards WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Several West Milford High School students were honored at the Wallkill Valley Invitational Art Show recently. Phoebe Smith was offered a $10,000 per year scholarship from Monserrat College of Art for her work, "Orange Self." Faith Callamari earned 2nd place honors for her photograph "No More" and Allison Koch took a 2nd Place ribbon as well for her Sculpture "In Bloom."

Pompton Lakes Little League Registration Rescheduled POMPTON LAKES, N.J. -- Pompton Lakes Riverdale Little League announced a new in-person registration date added on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Pompton Lakes Civic Center. The date was added to compensate for the cancellation on Jan. 23 due to weather. Registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Six Lyndhurst School District Students Chosen For Regional Music Groups LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Several members of the Lyndhurst School District’s Fine and Performing Arts Department were invited to participate in prestigious musical groups during the 2015 – 2016 school year.Betsaida Oliveira (trumpet) and Dennis Alarcon (flute) were asked to perform in the Bergen County Band.Andrew Mayewski (trumpet) and Oliveira were invited to join the Northern NewJersey Region I Symphonic Band. Alacron (piccolo) was also asked to join the Northern New Jersey Region I Wind Ensemble as well as the Orchestra.
