Leonia Library Has Sewing Class For Teens LEONIA, N.J. -- The Leonia Library will host sewing classes for teens beginnig Wednesday, Feb. 17. National Pizza Day is held annually on Feb. 9 to celebrate a food so popular, the average American consumes 23 pounds of it every year, according to National Day Calendar. The first pizzeria opened in Naples, Italy in 1738. Pizzerias came to the U.S. in 1895 when Gennaro Lombardi opened his shop in New York. Today, 17 percent of all restaurants in the U.S. are pizzerias.

Legislation To Improve State Job Training Program Passes Assembly A bill sponsored by Assembly Democrats, including Gary Schaer (Bergen, Passaic Counties) was advanced Monday by the Assembly Labor Committee. The bill requires the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development to include in the annual report an analysis of the effect of the training on workers’ wages and employment and to determine the long term effectiveness of the training. Neurosurgeon Talks Concussions In Saddle River SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Saddle River Day School will host a meeting on concussions on Thursday, Feb. 11. Dr. Alexander Post is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).
