Mercy College Helps Parents Holiday Shop Child-Free In Dobbs Ferry DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy College will watch the kids while parents continue their holiday shopping with “Morning Out With the Maverick” Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages 6-12 in the Mercy College gymnasium in Victory Hall. Parents can drop their children off and enjoy a day out while kids participate in kickball, tag, a movie and more with coaches and students athletes of Mercy College. Ganim, Bridgeport Staff Contemplate Controversial Raise Contract BRIDGEPORT — Whether new Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and his staff take raises negotiated under former mayor Bill Finch is under question, reports CT Post. On Monday, one day before Ganim was sworn in, he learned a contract costing around $2.5 million was enacted under Finch for the supervisors union that includes two years of retroactive payments and three years of salary raises, according to the report. Rockland County Launches New Emergency Response Training Classes ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – Members of the Rockland Community Emergency Response Team (RCERT) will take part in a new community team training program conducted by the Rockland County Office of Fire and Emergency Services and the Rockland County Youth Bureau. Bridgeport PAL Opens Christmas Village In Trumbull TRUMBULL, Conn. – The Bridgeport Police Athletic League (PAL) will open its annual Christmas Village Saturday at 1 p.m. at the PAL Complex in Trumbull. The large display will be open daily through Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 1 to 8 p.m., with the exception of Tuesday, Dec. 15, when it will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $2 per person and children (infants through age 11) get a free gift from Santa.
