New Yorkers Aging As Population Decreases New York's population is starting to turn gray.  The state has the fourth oldest population in the nation, with 3.7 million people over the age of 60, according to the New York Post. By 2030, 5.2 million New Yorkers will be 60 and older.  In 2015, there were 14 counties in the state where at least 25 percent of the population was older than 60, according to the Post. School Pledges To Help Teen Taken Into Custody By ICE Graduate OSSINING, N.Y. -- The Ossining School District still wants to ensure a 19-year-old senior detained by immigration gets his diploma. Diego Macancela was taken into custody by ICE agents on Thursday at his home on Prospect Avenue. Macancela was set to graduate in a few weeks and was going to attend his senior prom before he was detained. He remains detained in New Jersey pending deportation back to Ecuador. The actor received a lifetime achievement award at the Tony Awards. Jones has appeared in 20 Broadway plays and won two Tonys for his performances in the "The Great White Hope" and "Fences." During his speech, Jones thanked his father and talked about his wife, Cecilia Hart, who died last October. Offstage, he is best known for voicing Darth Vader in the "Star Wars" movies.
