An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Carmel Girls Golf Team Wins State Title CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Carmel girls golf team is quite the foursome. Westchester Connection: Trump Lawyer Files Complaint Against Comey Former Mount Kisco resident Marc Kasowitz, who serves as President Donald Trump's outside counsel, plans to file a complaint with the Justice Department against Westchester native and former FBI Director James Comey.The complaint says Comey allowed a friend to leak a memo about his talks with the president in order to trigger the appointment of a special counsel, according to published reports. ICE Says Judge Ordered Removal Of Ossining Teen Diego Puma Macancela, a 19-year-old Ossining resident who was detained by ICE Thursday, had been ordered removed by an immigration judge on Nov. 16, ICE said, disputing a claim by Ossining's mayor. Puma Macancela, a native of Ecuador, is currently in ICE custody pending removal from the United States, ICE said. He was set to attend his prom before he was detained. Village Voice Spotlights Croton Aqueduct The Croton Aqueduct, which supplies tap water to New York City, was recently highlighted in The Village Voice. The Village Voice began their tour of the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail by hiking from Irvington to Ossining, checking out Lyndhurst Mansion and visiting the New Croton Dam, which was the tallest dam in the world when it was completed in 1917. Mohegan Lake Man Strikes 4-Year-Old, Recklessly Throws Shoe, Police Say A 23-year-old Mohegan Lake man was arrested and charged after he injured a 4-year-old by striking the child in the face, causing swelling and recklessly throwing a shoe, Yorktown Police said. Christopher Walker was charged with attempted assault in the 3rd degree, a Class B misdemeanor and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor after police were called to a domestic dispute Thursday night. Walker is being held pending arraignment, police said.

Legislation Proposed Making It Easier To Track Sex Offenders Who Move To NY For too long, Sen. Terrence Murphy (R-Yorktown) has said sex offenders have been able to move to New York State and fly under the radar.
