Kids Can Play Tennis For Free In Mount Vernon MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. -- The Kela Indoor Tennis Center in Mount Vernon has six weekends left of free indoor tennis instruction. This is followed by the center's end-of-the-year tournaments in March. The tournaments will get Mount Vernon children introduced to or involved in the sport during the winter. Council Affirms Date For Stratford High School Renovation Plan Review STRATFORD, Conn. -- A date of Thursday, Feb. 18, has been set to hold the special Town Council workshop to review the proposed Stratford High School renovation, according to a report in the Stratford Star. Pelham HS Students Win In Speaking, Oratory Competitions PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelham High School sophomore Saul Glist won first place in JV Extemporaneous Speaking and junior Kate McLaughlin won first place in Original Oratory, in competition at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich.Junior Alexandria Tiso won third place in Original Oratory and has now qualified for the NY State Championships in April. The Pelham Middle/High School team placed seventh overall.

Faculty, Staff From Todd Elementary School Volunteer At Food Bank BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- Faculty and staff members at Todd Elementary School in Briarcliff Manor continued the tradition of volunteering at the Food Bank for Westchester.On Jan. 21, “Our Todd volunteer group worked with donated foods received by the Food Bank from various drives,” said Todd teacher- librarian Tara Phethean. North Salem Gets One Of 12 Added Drop-Off Boxes For Unused Drugs WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino today announced that 12 additional drop boxes for unused prescription drugs have been brought to the county, thanks to an $8,000 state grant secured by State Sen.
