She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Irvington Students Raise $620 In Fundraiser To Fight Childhood Cancer IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Students from Main Street School in Irvington who are members of one of the Destination Imagination teams at the school, "The Imaginators," raised $620 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF).The foundation supports children with cancer.  The fourth-graders learned the importance of community service as they made lemonade to fight pediatric cancer.  Team members built and set up a stand in the cafeteria on Feb. 23 and 26 and sold cups of lemonade during lunch.  For more information on ALSF or to make a donation, click here.

Brewster Teen Earns Top Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete Award BREWSTER, N.Y. -- 17-year-old Allie McCarthy, a senior at Brewster High School who competes on a Danbury gymnastics team, was selected by the Section 1 Gymnastics Committee to receive the Section 1 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete Award. She competed Feb. 27 at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's championships in Latham and placed eighth.
