Garfield YMCA Celebrares 'Soup-er Bowl' Fundraiser GARFIELD, N.J. -- Prior to the big game between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos the Garfield YMCA will celebrate its version of the "Soup-er Bowl" by collecting canned food donations. Cans can be dropped off at  33 Outwater Lane, 70 Outwater Lane second floor, and 490 Midland Ave.  The YMCA will also collect canned soup at its door prior to the Super Bowl Feb. 7. Kent Man Gets Third Felony DWI Charge After Nearly Hitting Police Car KENT, N.Y. -- A Kent man was charged with his third DWI after nearly hitting a police cruiser on Friday, Jan. 22, according to officials. A Kent officer was traveling northbound on Route 52 at approximately 1 a.m. when a vehicle driven by John Keller, 40, traveling in the opposite direction, swerved into the other lane and nearly hit the police car head on, officials said.  After being pulled over, officials detected the smell of alcohol on Keller and conducted field sobriety tests. Suspects In Stolen Cars Lead Westport Police On Chase WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport Police arrested two people after attempting to chase down stolen vehicles early Monday morning, according to officials. Police received a report from a homeowner on St. John's Place of a male attempting to get into his vehicle at approximately 1:14 a.m. The homeowner said the suspect was accompanied by two dark colored SUV's and a dark colored sedan, police said.  Patrol units sighted three vehicles matching the description on Route 15. Ramsey Recognized By College Board For High AP Test Scores RAMSEY, N.J. -- The Ramsey School District will be honored by the College Board for increasing student access to AP coursework and maintaining high scores, according to NorthJersey.com. Ramsey is one of 425 schools in North America and only one of 36 in New Jersey to earn the recognition, North Jersey.com reported.  The district administered 355 AP tests in 2015, with over 84 percent of the tests scored at a 3 or better, NorthJersey.com said.  Click here to read the NorthJersey.com article.

Westwood Schools, Gallery Launch Student Art Exhibit WESTWOOD, N.J. -- Westwood Gallery and Westwood Regional School District’s Art Department will host an opening reception for the fourth annual“WWRSD has heART,” exhibit on Thursday, Feb. 4. The exhibit will feature student art about the meaning of having heart.
