Midland Park Police Officer Remembered For Special Olympics Work MIDLAND PARK, N.J. -- Approximately 40 people participated in the Special Olympics Polar Bear plunge in Seaside Heights to honor borough police officer Christopher Birch's commitment to the cause on Feb. 20, according to NorthJersey.com.  Birch, who was known as an active supporter of the Special Olympics, was killed in an off-duty ATV accident in July.
