Pregnant Woman, 36, Killed In Lower Merion Pedestrian Crash A pregnant woman died after she and four other pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Montgomery County on Saturday, Dec. 30, authorities said. The striking vehicle hit two parked cars and the five pedestrians at W. Rock Hill Road near Bryn Mawr Avenue around 2:45 p.m. in Lower Merion, police said. A physical altercation ensued following the crash. The 36-year-old woman and her unborn child died at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the crash, police said. 40 Families Displaced In 2 Fires At Same North Brunswick Complex In 24 Hours Two multi-alarm fires in less than 24 hours displaced 40 families at the same North Brunswick apartment complex, sending one firefighter to the hospital, officials confirmed. On Friday, Dec. 29, a fire displaced 20 families and pets at the Colony Oaks Apartment on Petunia Avenue were displaced by a multi-alarm blaze. DC Man Who Carjacked Off-Duty Maryland Officer Arrested: Police Police have identified and captured the man who they say carjacked a Prince George's County police officer this week. Anthony Stewart, 19, of Washington DC, was arrested on charges of carjacking, robbery, theft, and more, county police said. Shock, Sadness Spread Following Fatal Ambush Of Philadelphia School Staffer Shock and sadness spread following the killing of Philadelphia school staffer Bilal Henry, who was killed when he answered the front door of his own home, authorities said. Downhill Tow Truck Slams Into North Bergen Home A tow truck towing a USPS truck slammed into the porch of a North Bergen home on Friday, Dec. 29. The truck was going downhill on 73rd at Grand Avenue when the back wheels came off the ground, sending the truck flying down to Liberty Avenue, where the driver crashed into the porch of the home, Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Had the truck not crashed into the home it would've gone right into Route 1&9, which was experiencing bumper-to-bumper traffic, the captain said.
