Pleasantville Student Honored For Starting Community Garden PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Devin Juros, a sophomore at Pleasantville High School, is doing what he can to fight hunger. Juros was honored at the Volunteer New York! 37th Annual Volunteer Spirit Awards in Tarrytown for his creation of the Pleasantville Community Garden when he was in middle school. Seen Her? Police Seek Public's Help In Search For Missing Beekman Teen New York State Police are looking for a 15-year-old runaway believed to be in the Poughkeepsie area. Elisa Tra, a Beekman resident, ran away from home last Thursday is 4-foot-11, 120 pounds with long brown braided hair with blonde highlights. She was last seen wearing black stretch pants, a jean jacket and white shirt, police said. Tra is believed to be in the Poughkeepsie area, police said. Two Yorktown Men Assault 7-11 Employee, Customer, Police Say YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Two Yorktown men were charged with misdemeanor assault, after police say they got into an altercation with an employee and a customer at 7-11 on Commerce Street on Sunday. Police were called to 7-11 at 1:51 a.m. after Brandin N. Rivera, 42 and Brandon S. Rivera, 27, allegedly engaged in threatening behavior with the employee, pushing him, police said. Police said the two also got into an altercation with a customer, who suffered an injury to his face. The two were released on their own recognizance and are due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 27 at 6 p.m.

Yorktown Gets State Money To Improve Roads There may be some relief coming for drivers sick of potholes.The Department ofTransprotation is giving Hudson Valley municipalities $4.4 million to help improve their roads. The money is part of the DOT's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), Extreme Winter Recovery (EWR) and Local PAVE-NY 2017-18 budget. Westchester County will get $3,484,677.68; Putnam County will receive $878,593.85, and Dutchess County will get $64,940.76. Bear Mountain Parkway Ramp Will Be Closed Motorists are advised the eastbound ramps to and from the Bear Mountain Parkway at Division Street are expected to be closed on Wednesday, April 19, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., while crews perform utility work, according to the State Department of Transportation Motorists should follow the signed detour and anticipate delays, the DOT said.
