Committee Says Cortlandt Candidate's Lawn Signs Unfair CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee is speaking out against the signs of a Cortlandt Town Clerk candidate. The committee ruled that Gary Dyckman's campaign signs, that said "Elect Dyckman," was misleading since the current town clerk is Joann Dyckman. Man Causes 'Bruising, Pain' In Domestic Incident, Yorktown Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown Heights man was charged with causing bruising and pain to a woman during a domestic incident Friday. Brandon Durham, 46, was arrested and charged with assault in the third degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. Police received a walk-in complaint of a domestic incident. After an investigation, police determined Durham assaulted the victim, causing a cut, bruising and pain to the victims right shoulder as well as pain and bruising to her knee. He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on Oct. 5.

Teen's Underage Drinking Party Busted By Yorktown Police A teenager was arrested and charged Thursday night for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party at his Edgehill Road home in Yorktown Heights. The 16-year-old, whose name is not being released due to his eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with criminal nuisance in the second degree, a Class B misdemeanor. The teen was released on his recognizance and is due back in court on Oct. 24.

A benefit is being held for Tom Kennedy, who is battling breast cancer. Tom is the son of Thomas Kennedy, an Orangetown Police Officer who was killed by a drunk driver in 1973 while directing traffic.
