The budget features a 1.95 percent tax increase, which is below the state-mandated tax cap on the tax levy. The budget keeps spending essentially flat and has no layoffs. Occupants Atop Car After Taconic Crash In Yorktown The Yorktown Heights Fire Department had to make an early morning rescue on the Taconic State Parkway on Monday.A vehicle was lying on its side northbound on the Taconic with the occupants on top of the car, according to the Yorktown Heights Fire Department. Firefighters deployed its vehicle winch to provide initial stabilization and then deployed paratech rescue struts on the downhill side of the vehicle, according to the Yorktown Heights Fire Department. The occupants were then assisted off the vehicle with a ladder.
