An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Constitutional Convention Fails In New York, Pension Forfeiture Passes The New York State Constitution will remain the same...at least for the next 20 years. New Yorkers overwhelmingly opposed calling a Constitutional Convention, 78 percent to 16 percent. The ballot measure was opposed by labor groups, politicians and numerous organizations on both the left and the right. A constitutional convention will again be on the ballot in 2037. In Westchester, the ballot measure failed 75 percent to 18 percent. In Putnam, it failed 86 percent to 12 percent, while Dutchess voters said no 82 percent to 14 percent. Hen Hud Swimmers Head To State Finals MONTROSE, N.Y. -- Two Hendrick Hudson High School swimmers are going for it all. Sophomore Jennifer Gougelmann and senior Carolyn Kochek will be competing in the New York State Girls Swimming Championships in Ithaca on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18. Gougelmann returns to the state championships for the second consecutive year, while Kochek will be making her inaugural appearance.
