Scooter Rider Fatally Struck By Truck: Montclair Police A 41-year-old Verona scooterist was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Montclair, May 22, authorities said. Aaron Minkov collided with a truck while riding on his scooter on the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti said. Minkov was pronounced dead soon after police arrived at the scene, Stephens and Conforti said. Double Shooting Kills One In Newark One man was killed and another injured in a shooting in Newark early Monday morning, May 22, authorities said. At 12:10 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of Riverview Court, where they found Jamid Hargrove, a 22-year-old Newark resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Scheffler is currently the #1 ranked golfer on the PGA Tour following his second place finish at the PGA Championship in Rochester, where he finished two strokes behind winner Brooks Koepeka. Fire Destroys Essex County Home A home in Fairfield was gutted following a fire on Saturday afternoon, May 20, authorities said. Police and firefighters were called to Glenroy Road South at 1:04 p.m. and discovered a working fire, Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna said. Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Authorities A 37-year-old Newark man was shot and killed early Friday morning, May 19, authorities said.
