Woodbridge Man Arrested, Another Hospitalized After Viscious July 4 Fight: Police Police in Prince William County said a Fourth of July fight ended with one person in the hospital and another man in jail. Witnesses called officers just before noon to an apartment's parking lot on Still Place in Woodbridge because of a fight between two men, Prince William County police said. Blood On The Highways: 9 People Killed In July 4th Weekend in Virginia Wrecks State troopers said nine people died in wrecks across Virginia during the holiday weekend, including one in Loudoun County, but it's not all bad news. Robert Gogal, 87, of Bristow, died after he pulled out in front of oncoming traffic at the intersection of Harry Byrd Highway and Clayton Hall Road in Bluemont on July 4 just before 1 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said. This Little Piggy Went All The Way To Jail In Stafford A sheriff's deputy had a run-in with a road hog over the weekend during a traffic stop in Stafford County. In a pun-filled hammy press release, The Stafford County Sheriff's Office detailed how a deputy rescued a pig on the Fourth of July. Deputy Connelly was in the middle of a traffic stop when the swine sallied up to him on U.S. 1 just after 6:30 a.m. The deputy teamed up with some people in the area to capture the pig using dog food as bait. Prince William Boys Basketball Team Headed To National Tourney With Your Help The Bayou Elite Basketball program out of Prince William County is bound for a national basketball tournament later this summer, but they'll need help paying for the trip. The AAU team — made up of players from across the county — will play in the Perfection National Invitation Tournament beginning on July 29 in Philadelphia. The boys have spent the season beating some of the best teams in the U.S. at qualifying tournaments. These boys don't lack talent. They only need the money to cover the cost of the trip. Sterling Teen Charged With Shooting 3 People In Loudoun County: Police A Loudoun County teenager is charged with shooting three people last month in Sterling, police said. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office arrested the unnamed teen in connection with the June 11 shooting on N. Fillmore Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Three people were wounded in the shooting, and deputies said the teen targeted at least one of the victims, the Sheriff's Office said. Stafford Drunk Driver Had Child In Car During Crash: Police A Stafford woman had a blood-alcohol level of .20 and a child in her car when she caused a crash earlier this week, authorities said. Kathleen Fernandez, 39, pulled into traffic while turning onto U.S. 1 on June 26 just before noon, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
