Girl Scouts Visit Mahwah Town Hall MAHWAH, N.J. — Girl Scout Troop 5985 got a private tour of Mahwah Town Hall from Mayor Bill Laforet. Wednesday's tour was part of the scout's "landmark detective" project, where they are encouraged to explore their community and find out what things are important. Paramus Students Pedal Excess Energy Away In The Classroom PARAMUS, N.J. — Students are fidgeting less and paying better attention in class at Parkway Elementary School in Paramus, thanks to the addition of desk cycles. The desk cycles let students silently pedal away below the table while keeping their heads involved in class and "get their wiggles out," Principal Suzanne Barbi said. Mahwah Honors New York, New Jersey Trail Conference With Heritage Award MAHWAH, N.J. — The Mahwah HIstorical Preservation Commission granted the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference a Heritage Award at Thursday night's town council meeting. The award was given to the group for its work restoring the historic Darlington Schoolhouse. North Arlington Woman Raises $67K For Brother In Need Of Prosthetic Leg NORTH ARLINGTON, N.J. — More than $67,000 had been raised of Thursday night on a GoFundMe page launched by North Arlington resident Diana Iacono to help her brother who lost his leg in an accident. East Rutherford Memorial Library Launches Animal Friendly Programs EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — East Rutherford Memorial Library is launching some animal friendly programs in February. Starting February 1, the library will launch a pet edition "food for fines" program.
