Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Fatal Crash: Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Collision At Hicksville Intersection An investigation is underway after a midday crash at a Long Island intersection. It happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 in Hicksville. A 20-year-old man operating a 2019 Toyota 4Runner was traveling eastbound on Princess Street attempting to make a right-hand turn onto North Broadway where he collided with an adult male bicyclist. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician. His identity has not yet been released. The 4runner driver remained at scene. 21-Year-Old Rescued From Water After Robert Moses Causeway Crash In Suffolk A Long Island man was rescued after landing in the water following a crash on the Robert Moses Causeway Bridge. At around 2 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, state police responded to a report of a crash in the northbound lanes of the bridge in Suffolk County. Upon arrival, the troopers observed an unoccupied Ford Escape and heard a phone ringing and answered the phone, state police said. Boat Explosion: East Setauket Woman Seriously Injured At Smithtown Bay In Stony Brook Two people were injured, one seriously, in a boat explosion on Long Island. It happened Saturday, Aug. 5 at about 6 p.m. in Stony Brook. A 54-year-old East Setauket man was operating his boat, a 2003 Sea Ray Sundancer, in Smithtown Bay, traveling from Sunken Meadow State Park to Stony Brook Marina, when it stalled, Suffolk County Police said. Fatal Crash: 35-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In 2-Vehicle I-95 Collision In Westport A 35-year-old was killed in a two-vehicle crash on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County. It happened just before 6:40 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 on the northbound side in Westport when Connecticut State Police say a motorcycle collided with a car in front of it. The victim, identified as Frank Brown, of Waterbury, was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. None of the five people in the other vehicle, a 2007 Honda Odyssey, was injured.

2 Killed In Separate Crashes In North Lindenhurst, Huntington Two people were killed in separate Long Island crashes on Saturday, Aug. 5. The first happened at around 2:45 p.m. in North Lindenhurst.
