Cleaning Solution Blamed For Feared Gas Leak At Westchester Restaurant RYE, N.Y. -- Cleaning solution at Wuji Restaurant at 26 Purchase Street was the cause of what firefighters in Rye initially feared was a gas leak Monday morning. The Rye Fire Department received a call at 11:30 a.m. from Angela's on Purchase Street. They were concerned after smelling gas coming from Wuji, located next door. Three firefighters arrived on the scene and determined the cause was Wuji cleaning their exhaust hood in the kitchen and the chemical smell was from cleaning solution.

Gas Line Struck In Tarrytown TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Con Edison is on the scene after a private contractor struck a gas line at 65 Church St. in Tarrytown Friday morning. Brush Fire Extinguished At Pleasantville Train Station PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A brush fire that started at the Pleasantville Train Station was extinguished Friday afternoon, the MTA said. The small brush fire began 1 p.m. on track two. The fire was put out shortly after and service was not affected, the MTA said.

Dumpster On Tractor Trailer Catches Fire On I-87 ARDSLEY, N.Y. -- A dumpster on the back of a tractor trailer caught on fire on I-87 in Ardsley between exits 8 and 9 late Friday morning. The dumpster caught fire at 11:54 a.m. and firefighters were able to extinguish it at 12:47 p.m. according to David Howard of the New York State Police. While the fire was being battled, the right and center lanes were blocked. There were no injuries. The lanes have since been reopened.
