An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Clarkstown Town Council Fires Suspended Chief Sullivan CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan was fired by the Clarkstown Town Council at a meeting Tuesday night. The board voted 3-2 to fire Sullivan, who was found guilty last month on 11 of 15 charges, including misconduct, insubordination, and incompetence. with a recommendation by hearing officer Robert Ponzini that he lose his job. SPCA Saves 23 Cats From Harvey, Irma BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The SPCA of Westchester was able to rescue 23 cats and kittens from Hurricanes Harvey and Irene. The cats were transported to its Briarcliff location last week after shelters in Texas and Florida had to make room for the overwhelming amount of lost and displaced animals. Thirteen cats came from Texas, while 10 came from Florida. "We're honored to lend a small hand in making lives better for these cats and kittens who desperately needed a safe haven and second chance," said the SPCA's Executive Director Shannon Laukhuf.
