Four Teenagers Arrested After Overturning Stolen Vehicle: Summit Police An overturned vehicle led to the apprehension of four 16-year-olds from Essex County for stealing a car on Wednesday, June 14, Summit Police said. At 4:11 p.m., Summit Police began to follow a 2019 Audi A5 that was reported stolen in Montclair. The vehicle was traveling east on the Route 24 south service road near Hobart Ave when it sped onto Route 24 East, officers said. Inmates Convicted In Brutal Prison Beating: Essex County Prosecutors Two Essex County inmates were convicted of attempted murder for savagely beating another inmate with a microwave oven and other weapons in Sept. 2021, authorities announced Wednesday, June 14. Shots Fired Over Parking Dispute, Suspect At Large: Kearny Police A 34-year-old Newark man remains at large following a shooting that occurred in Kearny following a parking dispute on the afternoon Tuesday, June 13, authorities said. Union Woman Killed In Summit Car Crash (Updated) A 51-year-old Union woman was killed in a one-car crash in Summit on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 13, police said. The crash occurred on Orchard Street and Harvard Street, police said. The unidentified woman was driving a 2005 white, four-door Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed when her vehicle struck a tree, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
