A French tourist died after becoming stranded on a remote road in Death Valley National Park as temperatures reached 116 degrees, according to officials.
Pierre Michel Formosa, 68, died on Monday, Aug. 17, after he and a traveling companion got stuck in mud near Queen of Sheba Mine Road, the National Park Service said in a news release on Friday, Aug. 21.

A spokesperson for the Ulster County Sheriff's Office has identified the couple found dead in a Plattekill home as a retired fire chief and his wife.
James "Jimmy" Brugger, 66, and his wife, Melinda "Mindy" Brugger, 54, were found dead in the Milton Turnpike home, Lt. Collin Reynolds said.
