Berdnik will host a summit on bias crimes and faith-based security on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Passaic County Technical Institute.The summit will feature two parts: a panel discussion about what constitutes a bias crime and how to report one. Demarest School Officials Ask For Input On More Preschool Classes DEMAREST, N.J. -- The Demarest School District is asking parents of preschool age children to fill out a survey to assess the possibility of opening a tuition based preschool class for the 2016-2017 school year. A child residing in Demarest who will be 3 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2016 would be eligible to enter this preschool program. The program would take place at County Road School.  The survey has eight questions about how parents feel about enrolling in half-day or full-day preschool. Click here to participate in the survey.

Wayne Basketball Coach Wins 500th Game WAYNE, N.J. -- Wayne Valley High School boys basketball coach Joe Leicht recently won his 500th career game. The Wayne Valley Indians defeated Garfield 67-37 to give reach the milestone.  Leicht has spent nearly 21 years with Wayne Valley, compiling nearly 200 of his wins there.  He was presented with a commemorative basketball after the win.  The Knights are now 9-1 on the season.

Police Investigate False Fighting Rumors At Arlington High School LAGRANGEVILLE, N.Y. -- State Police and Dutchess County Sheriffs are investigating false reports of a fights at Arlington High School that triggered "hold in place" measures on Thursday, Jan. 15, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.  Superintendent Brendan Lyons said it is unclear how rumors of a large fight got started among the student body.
