Landscaper Impaled By Tree in Summit: Authorities A landscaper was impaled by a tree in Summit on Friday, June 27, authorities said. The landscaper fell while trimming trees and bushes and a tree branch impaled his neck, causing significant injury, a spokesperson for the City of Summit said. He was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and is in critical but serious condition, authorities said. His identity has not been released, and it is unknown where in Summit the incident occurred.

Driver Hospitalized After Vehicle Overturns In Fiery Crash: Morganville FD A person was hospitalized after their vehicle overturned in Morganville on Saturday, June 28, authorities said. At 12:25 p.m., firefighters responded to Nolan Road and Reids Hill Road and confirmed an overturned vehicle on fire, the Morganville Fire Department said. The fire was eventually extinguished while a passerby pulled the driver out of the vehicle before first responders arrived, firefighters said. Trenton Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle: Winslow Twp PD A 46-year-old Trenton man was fatally hit by a car in Winslow on Saturday, June 28, authorities said. At 10:55 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person lying in the roadway near Route 30 and Pastore Orchards after they were struck by a vehicle while walking in the roadway, Winslow Township police said. Truck Crashes Into Wires, Causing Power Outage In Fairfield A truck crashed into wires, causing dozens of businesses to be without power in Fairfield on Monday, June 30, authorities said. The truck was exiting a business driveway when it struck low hanging wires, causing the chain reaction, Fairfield police said. The crash caused damage to eight poles and several of them broke, police said. The wires fell on parked cars, causing several to catch fire, police said. Three Men At Large After Phillipsburg Shooting: Police Three people fled on foot following a shooting in Phillipsburg on early Monday morning, June 30, authorities said. At 1:49 a.m., officers responded to Mercer Street at River Street on a report of a shooting, Phillipsburg police said. Upon arrival, officers confirmed the shooting occurred and recovered a stolen vehicle out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a handgun, police said. A lottery player in Bridgewater won $1 million in the 100x Cash Blitz Scratch-Off game on Tuesday, June 24. The ticket was sold at a Wegmans at 724 Route 202 South in Bridgewater. Mays Landing Woman Stole $147K, Faked Child's Cancer To Delay Case: Prosecutor A 37-year-old Mays Landing woman pleaded guilty on Friday, June 27 to stealing $47,000 from an Ocean County senior community and lying about her child's cancer treatment to delay court proceedings, authorities said.
