STAMFORD, Conn. – Beth Pesiri Solomita, of Stamford, died Monday, Jan. 11 at Stamford Hospital. She was 47.
She was born Dec. 17, 1968, in Stamford, daughter of Dr. Ralph A. Pesiri and Patricia Moruke Pesiri.
She graduated from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and later received her master’s degree in art therapy at the College of New Rochelle. At the time of her death, she was employed as the admissions manager at the Childcare Learning Centers in Stamford.

YONKERS, N.Y. – Rose M. Collins, of Yonkers, formerly of the Bronx, died Monday, Jan. 11. She was 92.
She and her late husband, John, were the proprietors of Dom & Jack's Luncheonette in the Bronx for 42 years. They were married for 63 years. She always enjoyed cooking, knitting and watching the Yankees.
She was the mother of Noreen (John) Bucala; Jacqueline Collins; and Christine (Sal) Ficarrotta; grandmother four; and great-grandmother of three.

OSSINING, N.Y. – John Creary, longtime Ossining resident, died Sunday, Jan. 10 at Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne. He was 88.
His parents, Herman Beresford and Ivy Elicia (Satchell) Creary, named him Herman John Oct. 28, 1927, in Kingston, Jamaica - West Indies.
He was educated in Montclair, N.J. and Kingston, graduating from St. George's College in 1945. He earned his bachelor’s degree in foreign language and philosophy from Fordham University in 1952 and a master’s degree and professional diploma at the Teachers College at Columbia University.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Lilla M. Orr, of Stamford, died Saturday, Jan. 9. She was 83.
She was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Estill, S.C., daughter of the late Simpson and Alethia Fields Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Richard Orr (Angela); three sisters, Claretha Joiner (Frederick); Lucille Wilson; and Dorothy Wilson; one brother, Abraham Wilson (Dianne); two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

NORWALK, Conn. – Bernard J. Alweil, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Emerald Health Care. He was 90.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Nathan Alweil and Rose (Koenig) Alweil, he retired to Jupiter, Fla., in 1990, moving there from Norwalk.
Prior to retiring, he was an advertising director for Caldor, where he met his wife, Diane. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. His interests included golf, and he was a wine enthusiast.

STAMFORD, Conn. – Shirley R. Moore, of Stamford, died Saturday, Jan. 10. She was 68.
She was born Dec. 15, 1947, in Cottageville, S.C., daughter of Tracey and Mildred Johnson Moore. She was employed with the City of Stamford as an administrative assistant of the records department until retiring.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirlette Moore; sister-in-law, Shirley R. Moore; brother-in-law, Edward Smalls; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
