Man Dies In Union County Fire A man was killed in a Union County fire Friday, Nov. 3. Flames broke out at a home on the 100 block of North Avenue in Garwood around 4:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, local police said. Multiple 911 callers said the first floor of the structure was fully engulfed.  Garwood firefighters and others from surrounding jurisdictions responded, and neighbors said a victim may be inside, Garwood police said. Firefighters found a male victim on the first floor apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The incident remains under investigation.
