Man Rescued After Car Plunges Into Anacostia River On Christmas Dive teams pulled a man from the Anacostia River after his car plunged into the water on Christmas Day. The call came in just before 2 p.m. at the 11th Street bridge, NBC Washington reports. The man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, the outlet said. Christmas Eve Murder: Son Charged With Killing Dad In Morris County A Morris County son is accused of killing his dad on Sunday, Dec. 24, authorities said. Kyle Meyer, 33, is believed to have killed his dad, 61-year-old Gregory Meyer, was found dead in the home the two shared around 1:15 p.m. on Old Denville Road in Boonton Township, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said. Kyle was found in Paterson around 9 p.m., Carroll said alongside Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Boonton Township Police Chief Thomas Cacciabeve. Christmas Fire Kills One Person In Fairfax County One person died in a Fairfax County townhouse fire early Christmas morning, officials said. Firefighters arrived to flames shooting out of a residence of a home on the 14100 block of Red River Drive in Centreville, officials said. 6-Year-Old Placed On Wrong Philadelphia Flight To Florida By Spirit Airlines: Reports Spirit Airlines is taking the blame for placing a 6-year-old boy flying solo on the wrong Florida-bound flight out of Philadelphia, CNN and WINK-TV report. The boy was supposed to fly to Orlando to meet his grandmother from Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday, Dec. 21, according to WINK-TV. 23-Year-Old Killed In Route 1 Crash A 23-year-old driver was killed in a crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick overnight, police said. It happened just before 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, on the southbound side of the highway near New Road, local police said.
