Cars Land In Median On I-95 Tying Up Traffic For Miles A bad crash on Interstate 95 had traffic crawling for miles in Prince William County Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 20. The crash happened near Lyman Park at mile marker 148.4. As of 1:15 p.m., traffic was getting by in the shoulder. Footage from the scene shows two cars in the grassy median, possibly overturned. The north left shoulder, left lane, center lane, and right lane were closed. Traffic backups are approximately 5 miles.

Johnny Roop, 20, was last seen at his apartment complex on Canyon Ridge Road in the Merrimac area of Montgomery County on Friday, Feb. 16, Virginia Tech said. His phone pinged near the New River Valley Mall at 4:26 p.m. later that same day. Johnny was traveling to his parents' home in Abingdon, to take an online exam by 5 p.m. but never showed up, the school said. Drunk Man Arrested In Unprovoked Omnibus Attack: Prince William Police A 34-year-old Alexandria man has been arrested following an unprovoked attack on an Omnibus in Prince William County, police said. Deybi Ismael Espinoza struck the 26-year-old man multiple times on the bus, before it stopped on Old Bridge Road and Oakwood Drive in Woodbridge Monday, Feb. 19, PWC police said. Espinoza was found to have been drunk and subsequently arrested without further incident. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Espinoza was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and public intoxication. He was being held without bond.

Air Canada Jet To Newark Receives Bogus Midair Threat: Port Authority PD A threat directed toward an Air Canada flight brought a major police presence to Newark Airport Monday, Feb. 19, officials said. Port Authority police and its canine unit responded to EWR Terminal A at around noon after airport police received the report of the threat, a PAPD spokesperson said. The plane landed at EWR Terminal A without incident, and all passengers deplaned safely with no reported injuries.  At 2:52 p.m. PAPD and its canine unit fully cleared the aircraft and normal operations resumed. The incident is under investigation.
