Serino Defeats Gipson In Race For State Senate Seat In Putnam PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Sue Serino has defeated Terry Gipson in the race for the 41st Senate District.  According to unofficial results from the state Board of Elections, Serino leads Gipson 51.20 percent to 46.25 percent, 37,179 votes to 33,585 votes with all election districts reporting. Gipson, a Democrat, was running for a second term. Serino, a Republican, is a Dutchess County legislator. The 41st Senate District represents parts of Dutchess County and parts of Putnam County.

Carlucci Wins Third Term In 38th Senate District OSSINING, N.Y. -- David Carlucci was easily elected to a third term in the 38th State Senate District.  According to unofficial results from the New York State Board of Elections, Carlucci leads Donna Held 41,495  votes to 18,478 votes, 69.2 percent to 30.8 percent, with 100 percent of the vote reported. Carlucci, a Democrat, was running for a  third term against Held, a Republican. Both candidates live in Rockland County. The 38th Senate District covers all of Rockland County, Ossining and Briarcliff Manor.
