An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. Victim Of Head-On Collision In Briarcliff Is Hospitalized BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- Briarcliff Police have cleared a car accident that occurred on South Highland Avenue Wednesday morning. The head-on collision occurred at 282 South Highland Ave., according to Sgt. Lisa Gallagher of the Briarcliff Police Department. Gallagher said a victim was taken to a nearby hospital, but did not know the extent of the injuries.

Bedford Crash Victim Vandercar Mourned At Funeral, Tributes Pour In MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- An overflow crowd turned up at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford to say goodbye to Eric Vandercar. Vandercar, a 53-year-old Bedford Hills resident, was one of six people killed in Tuesday's train crash in Valhalla.
