An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Lifeguards At FDR State Park Save Child From Drowning YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Lifeguards at FDR State Park in Yorktown sprang into action Thursday and helped save the life of a child who was found unconscious in the water. Lifeguard Keith Mattos saw the child, believed to be around 4 years old, bobbing in the water and initiated a trauma save at around 1:30 p.m., according to park manager Brian Strasavich. The child, who was there with a camp, was not breathing and had no pulse, but after Mattos performed CPR, the child started coughing up water and showing signs of life. Yorktown Supervisor's Son Charged With Stealing Cash From A Party YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Henry Grace, the 22-year-old son of Supervisor Michael Grace, was arrested and charged in Yorktown with grand larceny in the 4th degree, a Class E felony. Grace allegedly stole $3,000 from a security box at a party in Yorktown, police said. Grace was released on his own recognizance and will appear in Yorktown Town Court on August 18. In 2012, Grace was arrested twice. Croton Teenager Making Her Musical Mark CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Annie DiRusso, a 15-year-old Croton resident, said she loves the rush of being on stage. DiRusso has performed at clubs throughout the area since she taught herself the guitar and began writing songs at 12. DiRusso said her music is acoustic folksy pop. Yorktown Heights WWE Contestant, 24, Believes She's 'Tough Enough' YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Amanda Saccomanno, a 24-year-old Yorktown Heights resident, is living every wrestling fan's dream. Saccomanno is one of the contestants on "Tough Enough," a WWE reality show. Two winners, one male and one female, will receive a $250,000 WWE contract. Sleepy Hollow Man Drowns In Hudson River In Tarrytown TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- A 43-year-old man from Sleepy Hollow drowned in the Hudson River at Pierson Park located at the end of West Main Street Friday. According to police, the victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family entered the water and proceeded to swim away from the shore. After going about 50 feet, he turned and started to come back when he became submerged in the water, police said. When he resurfaced, he was unconscious and was taken to the shoreline by another man. Eastchester Father Pleads Guilty In Pennsylvania Crash That Killed Three WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Michael Ware, whose daughter was the driver in a fatal car accident in Pennsylvania Labor Day weekend in 2014, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of involuntary manslaughter and three counts of reckless endangerment, according to the Bucks County Courier Times. Ware faces up to 21 years in prison and a $45,000 fine when he is sentenced in August. Three teenage boys died in the car accident. Service Dog Stolen From Car In Cortlandt Town Center CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- Christy Miles is desperate to get her service dog, Sensi, back home with her.
