An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Bernard Curran, 87, Former Chappaqua Resident Bernard “Bernie” Francis Curran of Newtown, Conn. and previously of Dallas and Chappaqua, died May 15, with a large contingent of his family by his side, after a five-year battle with lymphoma.  He was born August 1, 1929, in West Orange, NJ, eldest son of the late Jean (Monaghan) and Bernard H. Curran. His family said he was defined by the powerful mark he left on all who knew him as a  husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, coach, manager, volunteer, and great role model. Westchester Community College Graduates More Than 2,000 The graduates of Westchester Community College are ready for their next chapter. More than 2,000 students were granted degrees at the college's annual commencement ceremony last Thursday at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. The class was the largest in the college's history.
