An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Luna Is SPCA Pet Of The Week Luna is looking for her forever home. The big-eared 6-year-old pooch is deaf, but the SPCA said it doesn't slow her down one bit. She knows a ton of commands by hand signal and is a really smart girl, the SPCA said. She is crate trained, energetic and active, a little bit selective with her dog friends, and would be a good fit for kids around 12 and up, the SPCA said. Westchester County Marks 16th Anniversary Of 9/11 A series of events will be held throughout Westchester County Monday to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The county will host its annual memorial ceremony at "The Rising" at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla at 7 p.m. Monday. Man Fails To Appear In Yorktown Justice Court, Police Say YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 31-year-old Putnam Valley resident was arrested and charged in Yorktown Tuesday after he failed to appear in court to answer a drug charge. Vincent Pasciucco had missed a court appearance on Aug. 22 after being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Westchester County Corrections produced Pasciucco, who was in their custody on an unrelated charge, police said. Bail was set at $2,000 and Pasciucco was turned back over to corrections, police said. Authorities Track Down Yonkers Man Charged With Stabbing Pit Bull In Back WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y.  -- A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged Tuesday after the Humane Law Enforcement Unit of the SPCA and Yonkers Police say he stabbed an eight-month pit bull in the back. Deshawn Williams of Yonkers was charged with animal cruelty. For months following the incident, Williams could not be located, staying under the radar to avoid arrest, the SPCA said. The SPCA of Westchester’s HLE Unit were alerted on Jan. 3 that a pit bull had been stabbed on New Year's Day and was bleeding from the injury.
