County Executive Rob Astorino officially cut the ribbon on the trailway Tuesday, which spans 37 miles from the New York City border to Putnam County. “The creation of this uninterrupted, 37-mile paved recreational pathway, has been something so many county residents have waiting for,” said Astorino. “I’m genuinely happy to celebrate on behalf of the thousands of cyclists, joggers and walkers who have been anticipating this moment.” In June, 2016, the County Board of Legislators approved a $2.75 million bond act for the pr…

As I review the campaign literature and reflect on the Pound Ridge Meet Your Candidates night. I realize that of the three people hoping to unseat the incumbents, only one—Pete Marchetti—has a history of volunteerism and community service. Presently serving on the Water Control Commission, Pete’s 28 year engineering background is of vital importance to the TEP and wastewater issues facing the town. Mr. Hansan and Ms. Briggs freely admit they were too involved in …

Letter To The Editor: Vote Catherine Borgia Daily Voice accepts signed and original letters to the editor up to 350 words. To send a letter, e-mail ossining@dailyvoice.com. After watching the Forum Debate between incumbent Majority Leader Catherine Borgia and her opponent, Bob Outhouse, it was clear that the well-informed Borgia should continue in her position as our County Legislator and Majority Leader. It appeared that Mr. Outhouse still has so much to learn about our county, as he presented few specific examples of the needs and issues in our county and stumbled many times when he could not give an answer. There is a wonderful cou…

Ex-Putnam DA Adam Levy Seeks Another $50K In Defamation Suit Vs. Sheriff The legal battle between former Putnam District Attorney Adam Levy and Putnam County Sheriff Don Smith is not over yet. Levy, the son of TV's Judge Judy, is seeking another $50,000 from Smith, claiming he violated the terms of their settlement agreement.  Smith originally settled his lawsuit with Levy after Smith apologized for saying Levy publicly interfered in his investigation of Levy's personal trainer Alexander Hossu for raping a 13-year-old girl and agreed to pay him $150,000. Hossu was later charged and acquitted. Smith also said Hossu lived with Levy and that Levy should be investi…
