Man Killed In Canton Crash After Truck Hit Guardrail: Police A driver in Canton was killed early Saturday, April 8, when he crashed into a guardrail and was ejected from his truck, officials said.  He was driving south of Route 95 in a 2020 Toyota Tundra when he tried to change lanes, lost control, hit a guardrail, and then the center median, state police said.  The man was ejected from the truck and died at the scene, police said. Troopers have not released his name.  Police closed multiple lanes of the highway for several hours, but it was reopened by 9:30 a.m.  State police are investigating the crash. Troopers said…

Cooking Fire Blamed For Killing Man, Injuring 2 Western Mass Firefighters State fire investigators said the fire that killed a Western Mass man on Friday, April 7, was a cooking fire that got out of hand.  Holyoke firefighters were called to the 19 Donlee St. home just after 1:15 p.m. High winds fueled the flames inside the two-story house and kept fire crews at bay for 30 minutes as they tried to beat back the conflagration, the state fire marshal said.  They found the older man dead inside the home once firefighters got in. Double Shooting With Serious Injuries: Police In Western Mass Searching For Clues Springfield police are investigating a double shooting that happened Wednesday evening, April 5.  Officers were alerted to the shooting via a ShotSpotter activation just after 5:45 p.m., Springfield police said. They arrived at the 100 block of Ft. Pleasant Ave. and found two men bleeding from gunshot wounds.  Responders rushed them to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries, officials said.  Police did not release an update on their condition or their names. Hikers Launch Fundraiser For Westford Native Who Died Climbing NH Mountain Emily Sotelo was determined to climb all of New Hampshire's 48 mountains over 4,000 feet tall before her 20th birthday. The Westford, Massachusetts, native had topped 40 of them and wanted to finish the others while on Thanksgiving break from Vanderbilt University.  Unfortunately, Sotelo disappeared while hiking up Mount Lafayette on Nov. 20, 2022.
