Eighth-Grader Wins Scofield School's National Geographic Bee In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Scofield Magnet Middle School in Stamford announced that eighth grader Alex McLeod won the school’s National Geographic Bee competition. McLeod, who won the competition Tuesday, Jan. 26, has qualified to compete in the first round of the state competition, which brings him closer to the overall prize of a $50,000 college scholarship. Bergen County Tournament Names Lodi Girls Basketball Team Top Seed LODI, N.J. -- The Lodi Immaculate girls basketball team continued its strong run in the winter season by being named the top seed in the Bergen County Tournament. Lodi had a bye in the first round and defeated No. 16 River Dell 48-30 in the second round.  The Wolves will face No. 9 Demarest in the quarterfinals Feb. 6.  The finals will be held Feb. 14 at Ramapo College.  Lodi started the year 11-4 after winning a sectional championship last year.
