Joe Gresko (D-Stratford) got a chance to play with Beau, one of 12 therapy animals that visited the State Capitol on Tuesday along with their handlers from three statewide organizations. The purpose of the visit Tuesday was to raise awareness of the importance of animals and the valuable impact therapy animals can have for people during times of trauma and crisis.

Greenwich Police Department Welcomes Two New Officers GREENWICH, Conn. -- Shane Geary and Matt Swift have successfully completed their probation periods and have become Greenwich Police Officers, the department said.Becoming a Greenwich Police Officer involves an initial hiring and exam process. In addition, officers are required to successfully complete the Connecticut Basic Police Academy, Field Training and a probation period. The whole process takes over two years.
