She has a bachelor's degree in English from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in publishing from Pace University. She married with four teenage children and is a competitive runner and avid exerciser.

Raise Funds For Shelton Nonprofits Through 'The Great Give' Until Thursday SHELTON, Conn. — Shelton is taking part in "The Great Give," an annual 36-hour day of giving to help raise money for local nonprofits. The day of giving began Tuesday at 8 a.m. and was scheduled to run through Wednesday, May 4, at 8 p.m., but has been extended to Thursday, May 5 at noon. New Canaan Sixth-Grader Earns First Place In American History Essay Contest NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Molly Wunderlich, a sixth-grader at Saxe Middle School in New Canaan, received a first-place award April 27 in an American History essay contest presented by the Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution. Civil Air Patrol Cadet From New Fairfield Earns High Honor NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Cadet Kevin Jenkins, a resident of New Fairfield and member of Civil Air Patrol’s 399th Composite Squadron in Danbury, was presented the General Ira C. Eaker Award and promoted to the grade of Cadet Lt. Col. Connecticut Wing Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Jim Ridley, presented the award along with 399th Composite Squadron Commander, Maj. Norwalk Renames Elementary School Field In Memory Of Student NORWALK, Conn. -- The Marvin Elementary School Field in Norwalk will be named on Saturday, May 7, at noon, after Isabella Icatar, who died of cancer in 2012 at the age of 9.In the spring of 2010, Isabella started playing softball for the Daisies. Students At Holmes School In Darien Celebrate Earth Week With Balloon, Show DARIEN, Conn. -- Students at Holmes School in Darien celebrated Earth Week with a visit from the Earth Balloon and with the annual Holmes School Garbage Art Show. The Earth Balloon is an inflatable earth made from high resolution satellite images with true to life colors. Students enter the Earth Balloon to learn about the planet from an Earth Balloon instructor. The art show exhibits projects made by Holmes School students from materials that would otherwise end up in the garbage, in celebration of Earth Day.

State Sen. McLachlan Welcomes Danbury High Students To Capitol DANBURY, Conn. -- State Sen. Michael McLachlan (R-24) welcomed members of the Danbury High School Young Republicans Club to the State Capitol on April 27.McLachlan represents Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman. The club is advised by Danbury High teacher Allison Soto and meets weekly to discuss current events and political topics. The students toured the State Capitol complex and asked McLachlan questions about his role as their senator in Hartford.
