Fundraiser To Be Held For Dorie McMaster Scholarship Fund NEW CITY, N.Y. -- A pancake breakfast to benefit the Dorie McMaster Scholarship Fund will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Street School Community Center on Zukor Road. Admission to the event, which includes a chance to meet Santa, is $10 per family. Non-perishable food donations to benefit People to People will also be accepted at the breakfast.

Bloomingdale Mayor Marks January As Radon Action Month BLOOMINGDALE, N.J. -- Bloomingdale Mayor John Dunleavy has announced January will be Radon Action Month for the borough. The initiative is in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. "Radon is a serious health risk," Dunleavy said. "It is the second-leading cause of lung cancer – and the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers." Bloomingdale will provide information on radon for residents at the clerk's office, 101 Hamburg Turnpike.

Depot Band Night Raises Money For Darien's Feed My Starving Children DARIEN, Conn. -- The Depot recently held a band night to raise money to support Darien’s 7th annual Greater Churches of Darien Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event. A non-profit Christian organization, FMSC fights world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to starving children in nearly 70 countries across the world. Grady Allen, who helped to coordinate the event for the youth center, presented a check to Ginna Yerrall, chair of the packing event.
