Asbury Loses Another Original Music Venue: Floodwaters Claim House Of Independents In the Jersey Shore town that for ages has been synonymous with original live music, the declining number of stages further dwindled with the loss of the House of Independents. The late September floodwaters that surged through Asbury Park's southeastern streets when Wesley Lake overflowed its banks caused an estimated $500,000 in damages that put the eight-year-old Cookman Avenue concert space out of business. Woman Assaulted, Man Slashed In Leesburg Bar Fight: Police Two people were arrested in a fight that broke out in the parking lot of a Leesburg bar overnight, police said. Joseph Smith, 32, has been charged with one count of malicious wounding while Eric Dekenipp, 39, of Lovettsville, has been charged with one count of simple assault in the 2 a.m. incident on the 500 block of East Market Street, local police said. Broadway Productions Of 'Lion King, Beetlejuice' Seeking Actors The Actors' Equity Association is casting actors for two popular Broadway shows. Recent casting calls are seeking actors for "The Lion King" and "Beetlejuice." Both are paid gigs with actors earning approximately $1,165 a week for "Beetlejuice" and $2,439 for "The Lion King." "The Lion King" is being produced by Disney Theatrical Productions while "Beetlejuice" is produced by Beetlejuice First National Tour LLC.
