A Lyft rider pointed an imitation gun at his driver after being dropped off at a home on Long Island, cops said. Patrick Santos, 34, of New Jersey, took the Lyft from Sag Harbor to a home in Noyac around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, the Southampton Town Police Department said. Michael Kane, 47, of Great Neck, was booked for second-degree assault after the elderly woman was hospitalized, the Nassau County Police Department said. A woman was killed after her vehicle left a road and caught fire early Sunday, Sept. 6, New York State Police said. Troopers from the Monroe barracks came upon the vehicle fire on Cedar Cliff Road in the Town of Monroe, Orange County around 2:26 a.m., police said.
