The owner of a Westchester County spa is vowing to continue her business after the building was heavily damaged in a fire, leaving it a total loss inside.
The blaze broke out shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at Bella Maiya Day Spa, located at 1326 Pleasantville Rd. in Briarcliff Manor, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, which helped respond to the fire.

A mother and daughter operated a coordinated retail theft ring across Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and New York City, authorities said Thursday, July 30.
Maria Betances, 47, and Leslie Cruz, 24, had nearly $160,000 worth of stolen goods and $30,000 cash at their homes in Valley Stream and Queens, respectively, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

A 69-year-old man died after his vehicle left the road and crashed into trees, a parked vehicle, and a trailer in Orange County, police said.
The crash happened at around 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, on Peenpack Trail in Deerpark, where troopers responded to the scene, New York State Police announced on Thursday, July 30.
