NJ Mom Behind $27K ‘Philly Princess’ Prom Castle Gets Prison In PPP Fraud
A New Jersey mom who once spent $27,000 to turn a Philadelphia lot into a Cinderella-style prom castle for her daughter has been sentenced to federal prison for a $535,000 pandemic-relief fraud scheme, the USDOJ Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced.
Treva Harris, 50, of Medford, was sentenced Friday, Sept. 11, to 12 months and one day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for bank fraud, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.

A former Manheim Township High School teacher and girls’ basketball coach has been sentenced after admitting he sent nude photos to who he believed was a 14-year-old girl in New Jersey and possessed dozens of child pornography images and videos, prosecutors said.
David Sean Burkhart, 45, of the 700 block of Scott Lane in Warwick Township, pleaded guilty Aug. 31 to three counts of sexual abuse of children, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility, according to a release issued Friday, Sept. 11.

The Northeast is home to some of the happiest people in the country, according to a new study.
WalletHub released its 2026 Happiest States in America ranking on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The study compared all 50 states across 30 measures of happiness, including depression and suicide rates, work hours, unemployment, income growth, family stability, volunteer rates, and safety.
