Not sure where you get the 40% that want to move the dispatch to Worcester. From what I have seen at the 2 meetings, I would say 85% do not want it. Even the majority of posts on here are not in favor of it. Also, I think they said the amount that we pay on for the 911 fees was 40 cents, not 80. When one twists the numbers to make their point, I do not listen to their points anymore. View Comment
Maybe I missed it, but how much will it cost if the grant is no longer available?
Last fall Bob Reed said at a meeting to fix the dam at Waits Pond that grant money is drying up and getting harder and harder to get because of the economy. Know they are telling us don't worry, the grant will always be there. So which one do we believe? View Comment
smr3357, you hit the nail on the head when you said that it was a management decision, and they can do what they want, regardless of what most of the town wants.
They are elected to represent the people of the town, and it is clear that the majority of people do not want to join the Dispatch Center for a bunch of different reasons.
When the select woman, I think it was sandy Wilson, said about the question of a 21/2 over ride, that most people there last night would not vote for it, that told me that they are not listening to the people. When the over ride was brought up by residents at the last meeting, and again last night, everyone said they would be willing to look into it if it meant helping Chief Hurly. Sorry, to me that just tells me she is not listening to the people. Why go through this dog and pony show if you are going to do what you want. I am not even saying I am in favor of a 2 1/2 over ride, but at least put it on the table. View Comment
Not making excuses for the guy not paying attention, but traffic is backed up all the way to the bait shop in the mornings. It is only one lane at the lights in Worcester at Goddard Dr, has been that way since the big storm a few weeks ago. I called the Worcester DPW twice, but nothing was done. View Comment
Yes, I agree that they ALL go way overboard when ever there is any storm forecasted. Just you appear to be taken it all out on Mr. Arnold because he replaced someone you liked.
Yes, I put a little time into the forecasts last night, at least I backed up what I said. In your own words, you are "guessing" about his forecasts. As I stated, everyone had this one wrong.
I do have a life, so I have no idea when Mr. Arnold replaced your guy, but the way you are carrying on, it was not that long ago. I know last year there where a lot of storms, including the hurricane around Halloween that was not as bad as it was supposed to be.
My last comment on this matter, you were not making fun of Mr. Arnold 2 weeks ago when he nailed the big storm! You only come out when he is not spot on. View Comment
Like I said before, he is not the only one who's forecast called for 6-8 inches. After reading your post yesterday, I watched/DVR all the weather stations at 6 last night. ALL of them were calling for the same amount, if not more than what Mr. Arnold called for. Also like I said yesterday, even the NWS you are so in love with were calling for more. My point is, it is clear you are pushing for the other guy, we all get it. View Comment
OK, we get it, you do not like Mr. Arnold's forecasts! I am beginning to wonder if you are Dick Jubinville yourself posting on here! Mr. Arnold's forecasts, for the most part, have not been that far off. Every other weather person was forecasting the same thing as him, then pulled back the amounts. Even the NWS, as you like to quote, pulled down the amounts.

Lang1, thank you for a well thought out response, and I agree with what you said. Liberal, yes last year was a lot normal than usual. Also like I said, the year before we had record setting snow. If you average it all out, it comes right into what the numbers over MANY years end being for the average.
As far as the storms being a little bit more severe, did you ever hear of the blizzard of '78? The perfect storm that the movie was made about? The hurricane that hit Worcester years ago? They were saying for the last couple of years, based on past numbers, that the east coast was due to be hit by a Hurricane like Sandy. It had been years since one that bad came up this way.
All that said, I do agree that some of the things we do does not help the environment. But when someone pushing global warming off on others goes around crying the sky is falling and making predictions that do not come true, it does not help their cause. Then when called on it, instead of coming back with a intelligent response, they start name calling, that also does not help there side. By the way, next week it will be 30 years since I saw my 20's. I can come back with counter articles against it, one of them a report put out but your guy administration saying that Global Warming is not true. a report that was quickly buried by the chosen one.
I am not going to get in a pissing match with the likes of you. Not sure who named you the king of commenters on here like you think you are. You are quick to jump all over everyone's post, then call them names. I simply stated so so far all your comments about the weather have been WRONG!
Guess it is easy to hide behind a key board, be a troll, and put down everyone one who does not agree with you. Please note, you started the name calling first, but that is what liberals do. View Comment
Liberal, you have made a comment on here about global warming on every post about the weather, and so far you have been wrong every time. You said we would not have a white Christmas, when in fact we did. Then when the forecast was for 8 inches of snow you said it was going to rain. Guess what, we got over 8 inches. Now you are saying the forecast calling for cold weather to return is wrong. Please don't let the truth get in the way of your Al Gore believes.
Where was all the global warming posts 2 years ago when we had record setting snow fall? They call it a "average" snow fall for a reason. If you average out the last 3 years of snow, we are right where we should be.
Last thing, channel 5 said the week of Christmas that in our area, there is only a 20% chance of having a white Christmas.

Just curios, and don't mean to sound rude, but when is the photo gallery of the displays going to be posted? It is coming up on the last week before Christmas, and Saturday nights are the nights that most people drive around to look at lights. View Comment
Waite St. Leicester. 40,000 lights. Over 50 inflatables. Can be seen from Rt.9. Santa is there on weekends talking to the kids and passing out candy canes. You are allowed to walk around and take pictures. Line of cars most nights. View Comment
